BIBFRAME/Linked Data

BIBFRAME/Linked Data Working Group

The BIBFRAME/Linked Data Working Group (LDWG) at the George A. Smathers Libraries (currently on hiatus) explores the application of BIBFRAME and Linked Data models and technologies to enhance resource description, discovery of library resources, and research at the University of Florida.

Meetings are held on a quarterly basis and are a combination of discussion/brainstorming, training/education, and project planning. All are welcome to attend.

In the past, the BIBFRAME/Linked Data Working Group has explored the Library of Congress’ BIBFRAME initiative, Linked Data, and XML technologies, including RDF, ontology design and development (RDFS, OWL), semantic mark-up (RDFa, microdata), query languages (SPARQL, XSLT, XQuery), and graph databases.
